Job Summary

Skyfish is looking for a seasoned professional to lead our machine shop in Florence, Montana and contribute to our mission. As Skyfish is a rapidly growing startup, the candidate will need to work well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a 2-person machine shop, ensuring efficient operation and production
• Coordinate with team members to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines
• Program and operate CNC machines to produce parts
• Ensure all machined components meet quality standards and specifications
• Utilize SolidWorks CAD software for design, modification, and prototyping of components
• Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize designs
• Maintain inventory levels, track usage, and ensure timely replenishment of essential materials, tools, and supplies
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks and address any discrepancies that arise
• Create a collaborative and productive work environment for all shop staff

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC programming, machining, and SolidWorks design
• Experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Technical training or certification in machining and CAD design is a plus
• Strong proficiency in CNC programming, machining, and SolidWorks CAD software
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage inventory and order supplies
• Strong organizational skills
• High degree of attention to detail
